Dyersburg Man Charged with Attempted Child Abduction

DYERSBURG, Tenn.- A Dyersburg man accused of trying to kidnap a little girl on her way to school last fall, has been arrested.
Dyersburg Police have charged James Weaver, 20, with attempted child abduction in connection with the November 2012 case.
An 11-year-old girl told Dyersburg Police that a man wearing a dark-colored jacket and latex gloves grabbed her from behind while she was walking to the bus stop and tried to pull her into an abandoned house on Shaffer Street, but was able to get away.
'Weaver, who was arrested last week, remained jailed in lieu of $250,000 bond and will make his first court appearance, Tuesday.
