Dyersburg Man Arrested for Burglary

DYERSBURG, Tenn. - Dyersburg police have arrested and charged a man with a burglary that happened earlier this month.

According to a news release, Kelly Wright, 44, is charged in the burglary of Cycle Werks. Eleven handguns were reported stolen during the break-in.

Officers with the Dyersburg Police Department's Street Crimes Unit located Wright hiding in a closet at his residence Monday afternoon.

“Investigators have been able to connect Wright to the burglary through their investigation and officers have recovered two of the weapons. We still have a lot of stolen guns on the street and continue to ask the public for their assistance if they have any information about the guns or the burglary,” said Captain Steve Isbell.

Police said Wright is being held in the Dyer County Juvenile Justice Complex, pending a hearing in Dyersburg City today at 4:00 p.m.
