Medical Center EMS in Jackson is celebrating National Emergency Medical Services Week.

Emergency Medical Responders of all types were on hand to offer education to the public on safety and health related topics, Tuesday.

To help honor the Emergency Responders, a luncheon was held for EMS workers from all over West Tennessee. Organizers said the event was a chance for EMS workers to meet each other in a non-emergency setting.

"They are just happy for the fellowship, getting to see people from other counties, and everybody getting back together. It's like a family reunion for EMS with everybody reconnecting and getting to talk and just relax and have a good meal," said Jonathan Wood, an EMS education coordinator.

National EMS Week continues through Saturday, May 26.
