Early Morning Fire on West Forest Destroys Home

JACKSON, Tenn.- A Jackson family is homeless after a fire destroyed there west Jackson home, early Thursday morning.

The fire happened just before 1a.m. in the 300 block West Forest Avenue. Investigators believed the blaze started in the kitchen and then spread to several rooms that severely damaged the home.

Then, just before 5 a.m., crews had to return to the home on a rekindle of the blaze and found flames coming out of the roof. It is believed to have started in an open space in upstairs portion of the home.

Investigators say the home is a total loss.
Four people living in the home escaped without injury.
