JACKSON, Tenn.-Early voting for the August 2 election is underway and off to a great start, according to election commission leaders.

On the ballot are U.S. House and Senate primaries, State House and Senate primaries and several local races.

In Madison, Chester and Henderson Counties, one of the hotly contested races on the ballot will be the circuit court judge's race, with six candidates vying for the post. Early voting will continue through July 28. For times of when you can vote, contact your county's election commission office.

"One vote can make a difference," said Kim Buckley, Elections Administrator for Madison County. "There has been plenty of elections even in this area in the last few years where one vote made a huge difference."

Just a reminder. You will need a government issued photo I.D. to cast a ballot.
