East Jackson Home Shot More Than a Dozen Times

JACKSON, Tenn. - Gun shots went through a home in East Jackson shattering windows and walls, early Wednesday morning.

"We're lucky to be alive because who ever did it was intending to kill who ever they were aiming at," said Cynthia Martin, who lives in the home on Vance Avenue.

She said she was on her way to bed when the gunshots rang out. "About 1:30 this morning we just heard something just go bang, bang, bang a whole lot of gun shots. And our house got shot up," said Martin.

Police say the house was riddled with 25 gun shots. Neither Martin nor another woman who lives in the house were injured.

Martin said one of the bullets shot into the wall and ended up in a relish jar in her refrigerator.

"What have we did, nothing you know to no one to make somebody do this because they was aiming in our house. I don't know why," said Martin.
