Milan Puts Forth Effort to Protect Football Players From Head Injuries

MILAN, Tenn- In Milan, hard hits and tough plays are part of the game that the town loves; but protecting their players is paramount.

Head football coach, Jeff Morris, said the team had a three-year plan to buy improved helmets for the football players; but thanks to folks in the community, less than a year later, that plan is almost complete.

"You throw in young kids, football, and safety that makes everyone come together," said Coach Morris.

Several community groups made it their business to raise money for 60 new helmets, costing $200 each.

"This community always supports football," said Coach Morris.

With the season underway, he said hopefully his team can repay the community for the support in their own way.
