JACKSON, Tenn. - The 11th annual "Facing Future Choices Conference" was held in Jackson, Thursday.

At the program, held at West Jackson Baptist Church, area residents were able to get advice and education on issues that affect them.

Speakers from local businesses and community agencies in the area gave their insights on precautions the aging community can take to protect themselves. One of the bigger topics at the event was how people could avoid getting scammed.

Margaret Ballard said, "Dabbling into computers and things and we do get these fantastic offers and it worries me that some people might not be able to check into them and know what exactly is good or not."
