JACKSON, Tenn. - It has been one year since Demetris Cole was fatally shot in North Jackson, and his family is still looking for answers.

Police have made no arrests.

On Wednesday, several of Cole's family members met to share memories about Demetris, and celebrate his life.

He died after being shot inside a friend's apartment on Moize Cut-Off Road in an apparent robbery.

His family said they are still heartbroken, and all they want are answers.

"It saddens me more than it angers me, "said Ashley Cole, Demetris' sister. "It angers me that it happened to my brother, and my family is going through a lot of hurt and pain right now, but I know it's not the police's fault, and I think that they're doing the best that they can do. But it just hurts to know that my brother is not ever coming back."

Police said the case is still open, and under investigation.
