Farmers happy with weather conditions

By news admin

MADISON COUNTY -- West Tennessee farmers have something to celebrate this summer with the weather conditions.

Farmers say if you're growing soybeans or corn, the weather has been just right, not too hot, and the rains have come just when needed.

"Soybeans, we haven't had to irrigate any yet... We were getting ready to last Thursday but it rained Wednesday night.. But it is good timely rains and it should be a good early bean crop," farmer Burruss Nichols said.

Farmers also say corn takes more irrigation than soybeans, but they haven't had to worry about dry conditions, making for great corn and soy bean production.
