Fatal Crash involving Benton Co. School Bus
BENTON COUNTY, Tenn. - The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash involving a school bus in Benton County, Thursday morning.
The crash reportedly happened on Highway 70 two miles west of Camden just before 7:00 a.m.
According to a report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Eddie D. Sterling, 49, of Hollow Rock was killed in the crash. A passenger in his pick-up truck was also injured. Investigators believe the pick-up truck was traveling eastbound on Highway 70 when it crossed the center line and crashed head-on into the school bus.
Benton County Director of Schools Randall Roberts said only one driver and one passenger were on the bus at the time of the crash. Both were taken by private vehicle as a precaution, but neither were injured in the wreck.
