By news admin

FAYETTE COUNTY, Tenn. - In Fayette County, apparent tornado damage destroyed the Fayette County Animal Rescue.

Officials report 140 dogs and three horses were on the loose near Belmont Road. Trees were knocked down, trapping some of the animals under debris.

Road blockages have made travel difficult, but officials are asking for help from anyone in the area. They said to bring chainsaws, lights, kennels, leashes and gloves.

From last nights storms, only minor injuries were reported and no fatalities. In preliminary report, the National Weather Service did confirm a tornado in Fayette County.
