Fire on Berry Street Destroys Large Garage

JACKSON, Tenn.- Jackson firefighters are investigating an early morning fire in east Jackson that could have been the result of last night's passing storms.

The initial call came in just after 1 a.m. of a house fire in the 400 block of Berry Street. When fire crews arrived, the found the outside three-car garage was on fire. The rental house was empty and there were no injuries.

It took nearly a dozen firefighters two hours to being the blaze under control.

Investigators believe the fire could have started from a lightning strike. The cause is being investigated.
