First Responders Prepare For Possible Icy Roads
JACKSON, Tenn. – Workers with the Madison County Emergency Management Agency is loading their trucks with generators and other equipment just in case first responders need an extra hand during our icy conditions.
"(We’re) contacting the fire departments and law enforcement. We’re doing logistical support for y'all. We’ve got extra generators and chains in case we need to help move cars out of the way," said Madison County EMA Director Marty Clements.
Clements said his three person team acts as a back-up for other first responders.
"We're checking with the power companies and the health department, because there may be people on life support. So, if they lose power they will have to get generators out there," said Clements.
