Football Standout Encourages Local Residents to Stay Healthy

JACKSON, Tenn.- A former college football standout is encouraging West Tennesseans to stay healthy.
Jackson-Madison County General Hospital held a free diabetes seminar, Tuesday and Marcus Dupree was the guest speaker.
Considered one of the most famously recruited high school players of his generation, Dupree developed diabetes in 2009.
He shared his personal story about living with the disease and provided advice for others facing a similar fight.
"We still can live with diabetes, but we need to stop and think about two or three years from now, five, 10, 15 years from now how bad it is going to be so we need to stay up on it and stay on top our game,"
said football legend Marcus Dupree.
Dupree splits his time as a father, personal trainer and owner of of a trucking company.
