TRENTON, Tenn.-Former Gibson County jailer, Austin Woolfork, 29, appeared, Tuesday before a judge where he was officially charged with introducing contraband into a penal institution, as well as a marijuana count.

Woolfork was originally supposed to make his appearance Tuesday afternoon, but his attorney was able to get his case heard this morning.

Woolfork waived his right to a preliminary hearing, allowing his case to go to the grand jury. He and fellow jailer Sherry Worrell were fired in February.

Worrell's case has also been sent to the grand jury. Her daughter, Jessica Worrell ,18, pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor count earlier this month and was ordered to pay a fine.
