Former Educator Formally Charged With Felony
DOWNTOWN JACKSON -- A more serious charge for the former Jackson-Madison County educator accused of slapping a special needs student was entered Friday.
This charge comes after a WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News investigation.
Alvin Wilson was officially charged Friday morning with felony child abuse along with his original count of simple assault.
According to court papers, Wilson admitted to hitting an 8-year-old student in the face because he spit on him.
Wilson remains free on $1,000 bond from his original arrest.
