JACKSON Tenn.- Four teens were taken off campus in police cars Thursday afternoon after the principal says a fight broke out waiting on a bus.

The students were all Juniors and Sophomores according to Principal Michael Booker.

The school tells WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News the weather caused a bus to run late, and the fight happened while the students were waiting.

"It's sad that the situations are transpiring off campus, but they only come and spill over to the school because that's the place they are in close proximity to one another," Principal Booker said.

Since becoming principal this year, Booker said he started a zero tolerance policy for fighting, and all students who do will have to go to alternative school.

"I'm a rules person; I believe you have to give the students a real world rendition of what will happen to you," Booker said.

None of the students were seriously injured in the fight. Jackson Police say the students were taken to the Juvenile Detention Center, but could not say if they were still in custody.
