Fugitive Apprehended by U.S. Marshals in Martin

A fugitive wanted in Texas was caught after a chase in Martin, Thursday.

According to the Martin Police Department, the short pursuit started after U.S. Marshals tried to serve a fugitive warrant on the suspect on University St. The suspect's vehicle then collided with another vehicle at the intersection of University Street and Skyhawk Parkway and left the scene.

While officers pursued the suspect, he allegedly tried to run over federal agents with his vehicle. The federal agents then fired shots at the man.

Eventually, officers converged on the suspect at a residence on Church Street and took him into custody.

The suspect, who has not been identified yet, was taken to Volunteer Community Hospital and treated for his injuries.

The U.S. Marshal's Service is expected to release additional detail at a later time.
