Grand Junction Police Investigating ID Theft Cases

GRAND JUNCTION, Tenn. - Police are investigating several identity theft cases here in West Tennessee.

Grand Junction Police said they need your help identifying a woman in a surveillance photo.

They believe she has cashed a bad check of more than $350 at a local business there.

Police said they traced the check to Hibbett Sports in Bolivar, and learned that the check was fake.

Investigators said she is using the name and addresses of several Tennessee residents who do not know her.

Those victims told police they had been receiving bills for things they did not buy.

So far, police said there are several identity theft victims in this case in Tennessee and Missouri.

Police Chief Justin Powers told WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News he believes the woman is not only using false identities, but manufacturing fake checks and IDs.

Police believe the woman was in a gold or tan vehicle, possible an Oldsmobile.
