Ground Surveys for I-40 Improvements

JACKSON, Tenn.- The Tennessee Department of Transportation said it is almost ready to begin work that will bring major changes to Interstate 40.

TDOT said workers are wrapping up ground surveys on seven miles on the Interstate in Madison County that will be widened.

The coming improvement project will also redesign and adjust the exit ramps at mile markers 80 and 82, but it will be a while before West Tennesseans will see the improvements.

TDOT said the earliest the work will be finished in 2017.
