Gym Goers Exercise and Give to Charity At the Same Time

DOWNTOWN JACKSON -- The new year means new year's resolutions.

The LiFT Wellness Center in downtown Jackson opened its doors Wednesday for people wanting to work out. Gym goers donated three canned food items, then got to exercise free of charge.

The canned goods will go to the regional inter-faith association. Participants got to sit in on training sessions and fitness classes.

"Most people make new year's resolutions to get healthy, lose weight, feel better, eat better and we're able to offer lots of programs and activities and exercise classes to involve that," Miki Martin, Director of LiFT Wellness Center said.

The LiFT collected several hundred pounds of canned goods for RIFA.
