HARDIN COUNTY, Tenn. - Hardin County and the City of Savannah has decided to team up and share the cost of operating an animal control center and animal shelter after years of discussion.

According to Mayor Kevin Davis, commissioners made the final vote Monday night to buy the existing Savannah Animal Control building for about $746,000.

Davis said all of the spay and neuter program will continue as well as other programs. He expects the animal control building to be county operated by March 1.

Davis said the City of Savannah will have three more readings on the issue.
