House Hit In Afternoon Shooting

JACKSON, Tenn. -Gunshots were fired around 2:30 p.m., Tuesday sending witnesses to the floor and several Jackson Police officers to Lenoir Avenue. No one was hurt in the shooting.

Witnesses said a black man was shooting at someone and ran down East Chester Street.

JPD officers searched the scene looking for gun shells and the suspect who was believed to be on foot. A family member inside of the house when he heard the gunshots and told everyone to hit the floor.

He said he does not think the shooter was aiming at the house.

"People just walking by seeing somebody they didn't like, but I can tell they weren't intentionally trying to shoot the house," said Nick Morris.
