JACKSON, Tenn.- Doctors urge patients with chronic illness on fluid restricted diets to be safe in the dangerous heat.

Some elderly patients can have fluid restrictions, and doctors told WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News this time of year the heat can be dangerous for their body.

Doctors urge family members to keep them in mind on hot summer days.

"It would be best if they could check in with family members, and get to a place they could stay cool during the day," said Nurse Practitioner, Fred Sesti.

Doctors say during the hottest part of the day, patients should not be outside.
