Hundreds Gather to Remember Pair Killed in Triple Shooting
EAST JACKSON, Tenn. -- Hundreds gathered Monday to say goodbye to a step-father and his son who were shot and killed in last week's home invasion.
Friends, family and teammates all gathered at New Saint Luke Baptist Church to say their goodbyes to 21-year-old student athlete Markel Owens and 36-year-old Johnny Shivers.
Owens played football at Arkansas State University and was set to graduate in spring.
Owens' mother, 37-year-old Chermaine Owens and her 16-year-old son led the procession.
Owens and Shivers were buried at Highland Memorial Gardens.
Johnny Wade and his cousin Derrick Wade are facing charges in the case.
