Inmate Escapes While Being Treated in Henry Co.
HENRY CO. Tenn.- A Henry County man was arrested twice in 24 hours after deputies said he smuggled in drugs, and escaped from a local hospital. Investigators said trouble for Brian Tolley first began Wednesday night. Deputies told WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News Tolley was high on drugs when he wandered into a home in Paris. "They weren't familiar with him, and when he left he had somebody's wallet from in the house," said Sgt. David Powell. When Tolley was in jail, Deputies said he had a reaction to drugs he took inside. "He either swallowed some type of substance or had something hidden up inside him when he came to jail," Sgt. Powell said. Tolley was admitted to Henry County Medical Center. Deputies said Thursday he became aggressive and walked out of the hospital. Deputies set up a perimeter, and found Tolley nearby shortly after. Investigators said Tolley will now face more serious charges. "Once you cross the line into this jail with drugs on you or in you that then becomes a felony in the state of Tennessee," said Powell. Tolley remains in Henry County Jail on $2,500 bond.
