JACKSON, Tenn.- Downtown Jackson was rockin', Thursday night as the International Rockabilly Hall of Fame kicked off with its first night of performances.

Lead vocalists from The Platters, The Comets, as well as The Rat Pack were just a few of the acts that opened the festival.

7 Eyewitness News spoke with one the musicians who came from Sweden about what brought his band all the way to Jackson for this year's festival.

"There is a lot of common things together in this music style and I think a lot of bands from now on as we is checking back what happened in the 50s," said Ulf Nilsson, a rockabilly fan from Sweden.

The festival continues through Saturday. That's when The Baldknobbers will be inducted into the Rockabilly Hall of Fame.
