JPD Captain Honored at Retirement Reception

JACKSON, Tenn.- A longtime Hub City police officer is taking off his badge and retiring.
Captain Jerry Truelove, a 34 year veteran of the Jackson police force was honored by fellow officers, friends and community leaders during a retirement reception Friday.
Truelove began working at the department in 1978 as a patrolmen.
He has also worked as an investigator and headeded up crime the prevention unit.
Truelove said he has had a great career.
"For a little kid from east Jackson to come to the Jackson Police Department and retire as a Captain, I think i've done pretty good and I've really enjoyed my career here," said Captain Jerry Truelove of the Jackson Police Department.
Trulove said he has no immediate plans other than to enjoy retirement and spend a lot of time with his five grandchildren.
