JPD Receives More than a Dozen Shots Fired Call

JACKSON, Tenn.- During the New Year's celebrations, Jackson Police said they received 17 shots fired calls from 7 p.m., Monday to 7 a.m., Tuesday.

Police believed some of those may have been due to people using fireworks, which are illegal in Jackson and Madison County.

However, police believed several of those calls were due to people firing off their weapons in the air to celebrate the new year.
