JACKSON, Tenn.- Jackson State Community College and six Tennessee Technology Centers have signed a joint academic agreement so students can have a path to an associates degree with the junior college.
Officials from Jackson State and the Technology Centers in Jackson, Lexington, Paris, Crump and Whiteville and McKenzie signed the articulation agreement, Friday.
The agreement allows students a seamless transition from the tech schools into the Jackson State Industrial Technology Degree and Associates of Applied Science degree programs.
"This is the bridge that the technology students can take to come to Jackson State and get their associates degree and they will already have that potential in their pocket," said Terri Messer, of Jackson State Community College.
Leaders from both schools said the agreement is designed to meet the needs of the manufacturing field through continued education and work readiness.
