Jackson BPW Awards Woman of Achievement

JACKSON, Tenn.- The Jackson Area Business and Professional Women named Patricia Turner as their Woman of Achievement for 2012.

The announcement came as part of the National Business Women's Week at the organizations' Brown Bag luncheon

Turner has worked full-time as a social worker and served as a chair of the Jackson Social Services Council. She has served on the committees to encourage racial and religious tolerance. Turner said what she does is something everyone can be involved in.

"Social work is about reaching out and helping those that one can help as ones fellow human being. You know we have a great debt to one another, " said Patricia Joyner Turner, the Woman of Achievement for 2012.

Group officials said Turner truly embodies the organizations motto, Women Helping Women and they were pleased to present her with the award.
