Jackson City Council Meets, Discusses Audits

JACKSON, Tenn.- Tuesday, the topic of discussion for the Jackson City Council was audits.

Council members met at City Hall to talk about financial statements for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2012. An audit meeting includes examining evidence supporting the amounts and disclosures in the city's financial statements.

Mayor Jerry Gist said will all things considered, he believed the audit turned out well.

"We spend a lot of time trying to make sure we have good internal controls and that we can account for every cent of the money that comes in and that is always a goal for us," said Jackson Mayor Jerry Gist.

The next city council meeting is set for April 2.
