Jackson City Employees Participate in Month of Miracles

JACKSON, Tenn. -- City of Jackson employees participated in Month of Miracles, an annual event designed to encourage organizations and individuals to participate in making their community a better place through volunteering.

Jackson firefighter Chad Hart submitted the project which challenged all city employees to volunteer at a local school and make a difference in a child's life. On Wednesday, his challenge was accepted and employees from various departments visited Andrew Jackson and Alexander Elementary Schools.

"I just feel like I'm making a difference somehow with the school and the classroom, and playing a part and participating and making a difference in the life of these students," Elvis Hollis, a city volunteer, said. "I enjoy that."

City employees are scheduled at various schools for the remainder of this month. For more information about this initiative, contact the Department of Neighborhood Services at 731-425-8239.
