Jackson Drug Take-Back Nets 190 Pounds

JACKSON, Tenn. -- The Jackson-Madison County Metro Narcotics Unit conducted an operation to collect out-of -date or unwanted medications from the general public in order to dispose of them in an approved manner on Saturday.

In Jackson, 190 pounds of unwanted prescription drugs were anonymously turned in by the public at three locations around the city of Jackson.

This operation was part of a nationwide take back event sponsored by the Drug Enforcement Administration. This is the seventh DEA sponsored prescription drug take back operation conducted since September of 2010.

The seven operations collectively yielded a total of 893.5 pounds taken back from the Jackson-Madison County Community.
