Jackson Mayor Hands Out Civic Pride Awards

JACKSON, Tenn.- A number commerical, institutional, residental and residential areas received honors today from the mayor's office.

Jackson Mayor Jerry Gist handed out the 2012 Civic Pride Awards.
The awards,established in 1990 congratulate and acknowledge businesses and individuals making a positive contribution to the environment for visual excellence in the Hub City.

"Jackson will only be as beautiful as each one of the homes are. We have to take care of our environment," said Martha Morris, a residential winner of the Civic Pride Awards.

The awards are co-sponsored by the Keep Jackson Beautiful Commission and Waste Management.
