Jackson Police Investigating Homicide on North Highland

JACKSON, Tenn. - Jackson police are investigating homicide that happened at a residence in the Midtown area.

According to investigators, Kimberly Anyce Lindsay, 20, of Jackson, was shot inside an apartment in the 1200 block of North Highland Avenue around 3:00 a.m. Thursday. Police were notified of the incident after the victim was taken to the hospital in a private vehicle.

Lindsay underwent emergency surgery at the hospital but was pronounced dead at 11:30 a.m.

Police have taken a 25-year-old man into custody but he has not been charged with a crime. The man and Lindsay were reportedly friends. The man is being held for questioning as police continue the investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
