JACKSON, Tenn.- You have probably heard by now that Hostess and Wonder Bread are closing down amid financial woes, which means the end of the Hostess Outlet Store in north Jackson.
Thursday marked the last day of business for the North Highland location. In fact, the doors officially closed at 5 p.m.
Deep discounts helped clear the shelves and brought in hundreds of customers who tell WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News they hate to see the store go.
"It's sad. I have been coming here for 10 years buying stuff and now i won't get to come back," said Pam Peevyhouse, a Hostess customer. "It's just like missing family. They're going to be gone."
This also marks the last day of work for both of the store's full-time employees.
"I'm going to miss coming here everyday opening the door and knowing that I'm doing good for the community and I just hate to see it gone," said store manager, Amber Johnson. She was one of two full-time workers.
The Hostess-Wonder Bread Outlet has been at the North Highland location since 1998.
