CAMDEN, Tenn. - A judge ruled in favor of Camden residents ending a years long battle between homeowners and a landfill they say has made them sick and lessened the value of their homes.

Chancellor Carol McCoy ruled to uphold the April 22 verdict that the landfills permits to open were not properly obtained and therefore should have never been able to operate.

Hundreds of Camden residents were affected and some even hospitalized hospitalized due to the ammonia smells that came from the aluminum doss production plant.

This ruling ends a battle that dates back to 2010. The landfill has30 days to appeal the ruling. If no appeal is filed, a motion to close the landfill will begin.
