JACKSON, Tenn. - Hundreds of West Tennesseans out of work are taking advantage of a job fair.

On Wednesday, the Goodwill Career Solutions Center in Jackson hosted its first job fair at its new facility at University Parkway and North Highland Avenue.

Workers said 325 applicants came in.

Workers said it was very crowded earlier Wednesday morning, with a line that wrapped around the building.

Representatives from Wise Staffing Group and Hamilton-Ryker are meeting with job seekers about part-time and full-time positions in Madison County.

Job seekers WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News spoke with said they are optimistic about getting hired.

"I have good work ethics. I have a good work background. I have a positive attitude. I know that the right job will find me if I just look for it," said James Watson, a job applicant.

Goodwill said the companies are looking to hire dozens of people.
