NEWBERN, Tenn.-The FDA has released the findings from its May 30 inspection of Main Street Pharmacy in Newbern and the report does did not paint a pretty picture.
The FDA said rooms that were supposed to be sterile were not,
products were splattered in various places, cleaning practices were not the right type to kill fungal spores and basic hygiene practices were not followed.
The FDA had found fungus and bacteria in at least two vials of steroids distributed by Main Street Pharmacy.
So far, 25 patients in four states have developed abscesses after getting the injections, however, none of them were reported in Tennessee.
