Man Accused in Weekend Shooting Appears in Court
JACKSON, Tenn. – The man charged in a Saturday night shooting in East Jackson appeared in court for arraignment, Monday morning.
Jameca Tipler, 30, is charged with attempted first degree murder and aggravated assault.
Police said a group came to a home on Whitehall Street where the victim was shot in the chest, Saturday night. The victim was flown to The MED in Memphis where he was listed in stable condtion, Monday.
The alleged gunmen abandoned the car they were in and ran from a Madison County Sheriff’s deputy who chased them from the scene. Tipler was apprehended by Deputy Michael Moncher, who was injured in the chase and arrest. Four others in the car are still on the run. They have not been identified.
Tipler is being held in the Madison County Jail in lieu of $250,000 bond.
