Man Accused of Running Fake Pest Control Business
PARIS, Tenn. - Henry County resident Kayla Nation said she locks her doors to keep criminals out and is shocked to find out her neighbors let in a criminal without even realizing it.
"Everybody knows everybody here, and you just assume they're gonna be a good person and not take advantage of you," she said.
Less than a year ago, Randall Damesworth pleaded guilty to theft of over $100,000 from victims through fake insurance claims. Police records showed Randall Damesworth was running Mid-State Termite and Pest Control, pretending to offer clients a service which victims claim they never received and because the pest control business did not have proper licensing.
Damesworth now faces several charges including operating a pest control company without a business permit, impersonation of a licensed professional, entering into a termite contract without a business and operating a pest control company without a business.
"It's actually kind of scary, you don't know who's coming into your house," Jessica Davis said.
Some Henry County residents say this will make them think twice about who they will allow inside their homes, and be sure to ask for identification.
"It definitely makes me more cautious of who's coming in my home to hook up anything," Davis said.
Damesworth will face a judge next month.
