Man Arrested for Murder in Ripley

RIPLEY, Tenn. – A Ripley man is jailed after being charged in a Friday murder.
According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, Shunn Marques Jones, 19, is charged with one count of first degree murder in the death of Courtney Denzel Johnson, 24. Johnson was found shot to death outside his home Friday morning.
TBI agents responded to the scene to investigate the shooting Friday and determined the victim and subject were acquaintances. Johnson’s body was taken to the Medical Examiner’s office for autopsy.
According to District Attorney Generals Mike Dunavant, Jones made his first appearance on the charge in Lauderdale County General Sessions Court Monday morning. Bond was set at $250,000.00.
