Man Arrested in Bells Charged with Rape
BELLS, Tenn. - Bells Police are investigating the alleged rape of a handicapped girl.
Authorities arrested Antonio Cardenas, 36, and charged him with the rape of a mentally disabled girl. Investigators said the suspect knew the victim prior to the crime. Police said they charged Cardenas with rape and sexual battery by an authority figure after he confessed to having a relationship with the victim.
Cardenas told police the relationship was consensual. Police said they received tips that the victim by have been abused from teachers.
Cardenas is being held in Crockett County Jail. His bond is set at $15,000 dollars.
