Man Beaten in Paris, Left at Home in Camden
CAMDEN, Tenn.- A Camden man is clinging to life, after investigators say he was beaten at a hotel in Paris, then left at his home in Camden.
Angel Lopez was at a 15-year-old's birthday party at the Hampton Inn, when friend and witness to the fight, Stephanie Acuna, said Lopez confronted his girlfriend and another man.
"His girlfriend was with a different guy," said Acuna. "He went over there to get her and that's when they fought, and he fell. After that she just drove off with him."
Investigators have not been able to get in contact with his girlfriend, nor have they identified the man involved in the fight.
Camden Police believe Lopez was dropped off at his home on Court Street in Camden. He was not found until at least 12 hours later, when his friend got worried after he did not show up for work.
"They just thought he was just hungover or something, and that's why he didn't come to work," said Acuna, who also works with Lopez.
Friends found Lopez lying on the floor with injuries to his head. He was life-flighted to Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, and remains in critical condition.
If anyone has information in the case, they are asked to call Camden Police at (731) 584-4622 or Paris Police at (731) 642-2424.
