Police: Man Catches Burglar Inside Home

JACKSON, Tenn. - Jackson Police said a man caught a burglar inside his East Jackson home Thursday, and held him at gunpoint until police arrived.

The homeowner said when he arrived home, he heard someone leaving out of the back door of his home. The man told WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News he quickly ran around the back of the house, pulled out his gun, and told the burglar to stay there until the police came.

The homeowner and police found some of his items hidden in the woods behind his house, estimated to be worth around $4,000.

The homeowner said he believes there were other burglars who left the items in the woods that may have gotten away.

Jackson Police are still investigating.
