Jackson Police arrested a man they believe was trying to steal copper at AT&T, Thursday.
Justin Lee Proctor, 23, of Greenbrier is charged with theft of property, vandalism, and trespassing. Procter was arraigned in Jackson City Court Friday morning and has been released on bond.
Patrolling officers reportedly noticed a hole in the fence around the AT&T building around 2:00 a.m., Thursday. Officers stated they found Proctor inside the fenced in area with wire cutters and found several pieces of cut wires. Proctor was taken into custody and his vehicle was seized.
Investigators believe Proctor was not acting alone and anticipate more arrests in the future.
Police said the business has had several incidents of copper wire theft in the last few months and they are trying to determine if the same suspects were involved in other recent copper wire thefts at AT&T.
