Man Drowns at Natchez Trace State Park

WILDERSVILLE, Tenn. - A man died after drowning at Natchez Trace State Park, Saturday.

Officials said a man in his mid-thirties from the Memphis area was swimming in the designated area of Cub Lake at the park when the incident took place.

Bystanders called 911, and park rangers, as well as other emergency workers, responded immediately.

Officials said when they were unable to locate the man. Decatur County and Henderson County Divers were called to assist. The body was recovered around 9:30 p.m..

Officials said the drowning appears to have been an accident and no alcohol was involved.
