Man Indicted in Lane College Murder Case

JACKSON, Tenn.- A Jackson man was charged with the city's first homicide of 2012 following his indictment by the Madison County grand jury.
Jeremy Jones is charged with second degree murder for the shooting death on the campus of Lane College. Jones is also charged in shootings on Roosevelt Parkway and The Villages Apartments from August of this year.
The victim was Justin Clark, 21. Police tell us the died from a gunshot the head. The shooting happened on the east Jackson campus in February. The two men who knew each other had gone on campus together. Police said Clark was involved in a fist fight with another man before the spray of gunfire into a crowd of people gathered around them.
"We as family and friends we don't hold a grudge against him because we lost our child and now someone else is about to lose their child," said C.H. Clark, the victim's father. "If you just stay prayerful and stay with God and get with the police department and the investigators, they will solve the murders."
Police said said Jones is currently in jail on unrelated charges. His August charges are scheduled to go before the December grand jury.
